SAVORY (Satureja spp.) Herb Of The Year 2015
" Savory is a widely used herb in other parts of the world, but few Americans know of it or use it. I suppose this plant species was chosen as "Herb of the Year" to boost it's lacklustre image!! Like all in the mint family, Savory is used as a culinary spice, but also is an aid to the digestive and nervous systems. In my cold climate, I only grow Winter Savory as it is a perennial. It is a bit more tasty than the tender annual, Summer Savory. "
